The latest round of the Sussex Sportshall league held at Tanbridge School saw the Blue Star Boys team finish in second place to the team from Crawley, scoring 226 points to the winners 235, and the Girls team were edged into third place by just one point, scoring 209 points to the winners Crawley (228 points) and Brighton (210 points).
In the Under 15 Boys events the Standing Long Jump produced a double first with Tom Gilsenan-Best winning the A string with a leap of 2.62m while Adam West took the B string with 2.55m. Seb Wallace had three wins over the afternoon, winning the B race in the 2 laps, running 21.4s, with Gilsenan-Best running 21.1s for second place in the A race. Wallace then went on to win the Vertical Jump with an impressive leap of 72cm and then finally took the Shot event with a putt of 10.02m, with Adam West winning the B string with 9.66m. Edward Crossman and Antoine Stehle teamed up in the Under 13 Boys Vertical jump to claim a double victory, jumping 55cm and 46cm respectively. Crossman had earlier leapt 2.18m to win the Standing Long Jump, with Dan Jackson taking second in the B event with 1.99m. Stehle won the B string in the 4 lap race, running 52.0s, with Crossman taking second place in the A race (48.1s). Craig Harris ran 23.3s for second place in the 2 lap, while Luke Stables took another second place in the 6 lap race (1m20.4s). In the Under 11 Boys events Fraser Williams won the A string Speed Bounce with a score of 53 with Blake Tomlinson scoring 49 for second place in the B string.

Cleo Tomlinson had a successful afternoon, winning the Under 15 Girls Shot Putt with a throw of 8.41m, with Ella Hannyngton taking the B string with 7.44m. Tomlinson then went on to win the A race in the 4 lap sprint, running 47.9s, with team mate Jess O’Flaherty running 48.9s to win the B race. These two teamed up in the Vertical Jump, with O’Flaherty jumping 60cm for second place in the A event and Tomlinson jumping 58cm to win the B event. The Standing Long Jump saw Ruby Walker leap 2.19m for second place in the A string, with Ella Hannyngton winning the B event with 2.17m. These two had earlier both taken second places in the 2 lap races, Hannyngton running 23.2s in the A race and Walker 23.4s in the B race. Macy Lawes and Alina Hillicks teamed up in the Under 13 Girls Shot Putt event and both took second places throwing 7.85m and 6.29m respectively, while there was a win for Holly Hudson in the Standing Long Jump B string with a leap of 2.05m. Madeleine Way continued her excellent season in the Under 11 Girls events by firstly winning the 2 lap race in 23.9s, she then comfortably won the Speed Bounce with a score of 60 and finished up by leaping an impressive 2.09m in the Standing Long Jump where team mate Kyla Ball won the B event with a leap of 2.01m.

The Relays completed the afternoon activities and there were wins for the Under 13 and Under 15 Boys teams, whilst the Under 15 Girls team were convincing winners of their event. This result leaves the Club lying in second place in the league for both the Boys and Girls with one more league meeting left.
