Dartford was the venue for the first of the Youth Development league fixtures for the Club’s Under 17 and Under 20 team. Although only fielding a small team the Club finished in a creditable 4th position of the seven competing Clubs.
Alex Wadley put up some excellent performances, firstly taking third place in the 200m where his time of 22.8s equalled the Club Under 17record and set a new personal best, he jumped 12.35m in the triple Jump which secured a win by just 1cm, and then went on to take second place in the 400m, running 52.5s, again a personal best. In the 800m Ashley Gorton ran 2m01.5s to take second place in the A race, with Tom Mackman winning the B race in 2m08.0s. Connor Dearden finished second in the Pole Vault with a clearance of 3.45m, and there was another second place finish for Joe West in the Javelin where he threw 26.08m. The 200m events saw Jordan Levey run 23.4s in the A race and Joh Harry win the B race in 23.8s.
In the Women’s events Tabby Lee won the High Jump with a clearance of 1.50m and she then went on to take third place in the 200m (28.7s). Ella Sharpe and Maddie Williams both finished third in the 400m races, running 65.3s and 69.2s respectively. Williams then went on to clear 1.90m in the pole Vault for second place. The Discus event saw Philippa Johnstone throw 25.56m to take third place in the A event, with Emma Garry throwing 25.30m to win the B event. Ellie Walker cleared 1.50m to take second place in the High Jump.
The Women’s 4 x 400m team of Tabby Lee, Ella Sharpe, Amy Dallas and Maddie Strickland ran out easy winners, running 4m31.8s. This was a promising start for the team with the next fixture at Croydon on 28th May,
