The Blue Stars Under 13 & Under 15 teams travelled to Poole for the latest round of the National Young Athletes league fixture. In a close match they finished in fourth place of the six competing Clubs, which moves them up to 4th place overall in the league.
The leading results came in the Under 13 Boys age group, where the Javelin saw Harry Long throw 24.84m in the A string and Theo Ramage throw 17.67m in the B string to both take victory. Ramage then went on to win the Shot event with a personal best throw of 8.16m. Ramage also picked up a third place in the A string High Jump with a leap of 1.35m, with team mate Seth Bond clearing 1.30m to win the B string. Bond had earlier run 14.4s for second place in the A string 75m Hurdles race, with Louis Byrne finishing third in the B race in 16.8s. In the Under 13 Girls age group Madeleine Way finished second in the 70m Hurdles running 12.1s and then took another second place in the 150m race, where she ran 20.6s. Way then went on to jump 4.27m in the Long Jump to take fourth place. The Under 13 Girls Shot event saw both Ellen Pratt and Phoebe Penston throw personal bests to secure second places in the A and B strings with throws of 6.70m and 6.67m respectively.
In the under 15 Girls competition Hayley Emerson and Macy Lawes teamed up in the Hammer, with Emerson throwing a personal best 26.25m to finish second in the A string and Lawes also taking second place in the B event with a throw of 15.07m. Emerson then took third places in the Discus, with a throw of 21.59m, and the Javelin where she threw 20.54m. Lawes meanwhile secured a third place in the Shot with a personal best throw of 9.05m. The Under 15 Boys High Jump saw Antoine Stehle clear 1.60m to finish in third, whilst the Shot saw Craig Harris throw 7.42m to win the B event, with Ed Crossman take fourth place in the A event with a throw of 7.43m.
The Under 13 Girls 4 x 100m relay team of Lila Cox, Phoebe Penston, Ellen Pratt and Madeleine Way ran 58.3s to take third place.
