The latest Sportshall league competition took place at Tanbridge School with the Blue Star Girls team taking second place, scoring 209 points to winners Brighton’s 228 points, but ahead of Crawley (202), Haywards Heath (90) and Chichester (42). In the Boys match the Blue Star team finished third with 171 points, behind Crawley (235) and Brighton (174) and ahead of Haywards Heath (159) and Chichester (32).

In the Under 15 Girls events Sophie Hogton set a new personal best when winning the A string Standing Long Jump, with a leap of 2.23m, with club mate Renee Bassin jumping 2.00m to win the B event. These two had combined earlier in the 2 lap races, with Hogton running 22.9s for second in the A race and Bassin winning the B race in 23.5s. Cleo Tomlinson was impressive when winning the 4 lap race in 47.2s, and then went on to win the Vertical Jump with a leap of 64cm, then threw 9.28m for second place in the A string Shot competition, with Emily Hutchinson winning the B string with 7.50m. Madeleine Way won the Under 13’s 2 lap race in a time of 23.2s and then went on to win the Speed Bounce with a score of 84, with Holly Hudson scoring 71 to take second place in the B string. Way also took second place in the Standing Long Jump with a leap of 2.07m, where Phoebe Penston leapt 1.97m for second place in the B event. Ella van der Veen ran a good 4 lap race taking second place in the A race in 51.6s, whilst in the 6 lap race Phoebe Penston took third place in the A race (84.7s), with Olivia Sharpe running 83.7s for second place in the B race. The Under 11 Standing Long Jump saw Caryss Wilkie-Rycraft and Lila Cox team up with the former jumping 1.81m for third place in the A string and the latter jumping 1.79m for second place in the B event.

Ed Crossman took second place in the Under 15 Boys 4 lap race running 47.5s, with Luke Stables running 50.2s to win the B race. Crossman then went on to take further second positions in the Standing Triple Jump with a leap of 7.15m and the Shot Putt where he threw 6.98m. Theo Ramage and Vlad Tikhomirov teamed up in the Under 13 Boys Shot, with both securing second places, throwing 8.07m and 6.79m respectively, whilst the 4 lap race saw Tom Easedale take second in the B race (83.2s). The Under 11 Boys events saw good points from the Standing Long Jump where Harry Long took second place in the A string with a leap of 1.92m, with Lex Cornish jumping just a centimetre less to win the B event. Long also ran well to finish second in the 2 lap race (23.4s) and then went on to anchor the relay team who won in 49.2s.
