The latest round of the Sussex Sportshall league was held at Tanbridge School and saw the Blue Star Girls team take second place, scoring 211 points, behind winners Crawley (221pts), but ahead of the teams from Brighton (181pts), Chichester (95pts) and Haywards Heath (83pts). The Boys team finished in third place scoring 164pts, behind Crawley (249pts) and Brighton (169pts), but ahead of Haywards Heath (130pts) and Chichester (68pts).
In the Under 15 Girls events Cleo Tomlinson won the 4 lap race in 46.0s, with Emily Hutchinson taking 3rd place in the B race (51.3s). Tomlinson then went on to win the Vertical Jump with a leap of 67cm, with Hutchinson again taking a 3rd place in the B event. These two again teamed up in the Shot, with Tomlinson throwing 9.97m for second place in the A string, and Hutchinson winning the B string with a throw of 7.14m. Sophie Hogton won the Standing Long Jump, where she leapt 2.26m, with Millie Martin taking second place in the B string (2.08m). The two lap races saw Hogton finish 3rd in the A event (23.0s), with Martin running 23.2s to take second place in the B race.
In the Under 13 Girls events there was a double win in the Standing Triple Jump, with Kyla Ball jumping 6.24m in the A event and Madeleine Way winning the B string with 6.16m. Way had earlier been a convincing winner of the 2 lap sprint, running 22.8s and then was very impressive when winning the Speed Bounce with a score of 85, with Honey Thomson scoring 65 to win the B event. In the 4 lap races, Ella van der Veen and Holly Hudson both finished in second place running 51.6s and 52.2s respectively. In the Under 11 Standing Long Jump Lila Cox finished in 3rd place with 1.88m and team mate Caryss Wilkie-Rycraft jumped 1.86m to take second place in the B event.
Edward Crossman and Joe Fickling competed in the Under 15 Boys Standing Triple Jump where they both took second places jumping 7.32m and 6.44m respectively. Crossman then teamed up with Antoine Stehle in the 4 lap races where they ran 47.6s and 49.6s respectively to take second places and further second places were secured in the Shot event, with Crossman throwing 7.10m in the A event and Stehle throwing 5.95m in the B event.
The Under 13 Boys 4 lap races saw Tristan Bradley finish second in the A race (50.7s), with Jack Ellis also taking second place in the B race (50.3s)., whilst in the 6 lap races, Reuben Marsden ran 1m19.9s to take 3rd place in the A race, with Harry Ellis running 1m19.5s to win the B race. In the Under 13 Boys Speed Bounce Blake Tomlinson and Tom Easdale both scored 69 bounces to finish in third and second places respectively. There were good performances in the Under 11 Boys Standing Long Jump, where Harry Long jumped 1.92m for third place in the A event and Lex Cornish jumping 1.86m to win the B event.
